Why is Juicing beneficial to your health

Why is Juicing beneficial to your health

With juicing your body can absorb more vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and enzymes than it can if you were to eat the produce. Heating and cooking vegetables will destroy some of the enzymes especially if you like your veg ‘soggy’. Juicing has shown to improve and at times alleviate skin diseases, immune disorders, lower blood pressure and help fight cancer (some people have attributed juicing to getting rid of cancer but this has yet to be scientifically proven). Juicing is a great weight loss aid, detoxes the body and if you find you cannot eat 6 – 8 portions of fruit and veg a day then juicing helps you keep up your quota. Also by drinking juice you are able to drop a couple of glasses of water per day as the juice substitutes the liquid. Juices can be an acquired taste. Our taste buds are so used to sugars that

Ten Ways to Change your Metabolism Speed

Ten Ways to Change your Metabolism Speed

Metabolism jump start - walk or run in bursts of 30 seconds. When you do this, you will take in more oxygen into your body and this will cause the cells in your body to work harder in order to burn energy more efficiently. Eat fish - Good sources of omega three oil fish are salmon and tuna, or you could take a cod liver oil supplement instead. Or if you don’t like eating fish try these other alternatives instead flaxseed oil, walnuts or eggs that are high in omega three oils. Do resistance training - When you’re actually working against something, and you start to build muscle this alone will enable your body to burn calories, even when you’re resting up to a hundred more over a period of time. Muscle tissue tends to be active where as fat isn’t. If you work out for 30 minutes two times

The Chain of Pain

The Chain of Pain

208 years ago last February Charles Darwin was born. He is, of course, famous for publishing “The Origin of the Species” in which he put forward the theory of evolution by natural selection. This simply put, said that a species adapts to its environment and the most successful adaptation gets passed down the generations to enable the species to thrive. As the environment changes, so the species evolve to its surroundings. Of course this takes generations and lots of time but then, the environment takes a long time to change. Or does it? The Industrial and Agricultural Revolutions mean that the human species has rapidly changed parts of its environment. This rapid change has not allowed our bodies to evolve, rather we are forcing ourselves to exist in an environment we were not wholly designed for. This can cause us all sorts of issues. Especially in the west, we are

David Brown will be coming over to host a mindful meditation morning

Saturday 28th October 2017 10am - 1pm. I truly can not recommend him enough and for him to come over from Cambridgeshire to run this workshop for anyone who is interested in improving themselves and wanting to explore mindful meditation with movement is a real blessing. Who is David? I have spoken to David for over two years on a fortnightly basis and he has helped turn my life around in how I think, how I train, how I run my business and how I explore my emotions. David is my Life Coach but in reality he is SO much more. David Brown has a very personal relationship to relaxation, awareness and movement. Struggling with anxiety and stress as a young man, David decided to explore how to overcome these limitations so that he could live more freely, enjoy life more fully and be confident in his own skin. Therapy Work with Lisa Treacher

Therapy Work with Lisa Treacher

What do I do: I work with the mind, body and soul. Most people have heard the terms energy healing, healing hands, Reiki, hands on / off treatment usually followed with the explanation of – ‘they don’t do a lot but I come out feeling great’ sort of work. Well this is a small part of what I do along with many other disciplines such as Personal Training, Rehabilitation, muscle balancing, joint realignment (no crunching or wrenching you though), trapped emotions, visualisation, muscle testing, Voila method, AiM, respiratory breathing and loads more. There is rarely a one way fits all kind of treatment so I use many of the tools in my tool box to steadily work through layers of problems that may have accumulated over many years. For example – A client may come to me with shoulder pain and a stiff neck that is tight particularly on one
